Bully Breeds come in all types, large sizes, and shapes. Understanding the Bully's purpose, character traits and the different types is a powerful tool in which can improve mankind's relationships with the vast ever growing variety of Bully breeds.
To me saying one Bully is not a breed and is a type within the breed is splitting hairs, since all breeds share the original root, the wolf or coyote. Placing the bullies in one breed and then giving each one a label has been the system since the first working or companion dog was created.
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) has evolve greatly from the first design. I knew the APBT was created for small hunts and vermin control. I had not known the long history of being a bait dog. wow, the first bait dog was for Bull fighting. How scary for even a large Bully. I hope that tradition has been laid to rest.
Amazing the Bully breed has a deep history of serving in times of war. I agree with the video Bullies are eager to please and easy to train.
The video reveals some of the different traits and personalities of a typical Bully breed. The bully breed does indeed have a large variety of personalities. Knowing the personalities makes the difference in a well trained Bully.
The video is correct the fear of the Bully breed is created and driven by media. Bullies do make great nannies. The Bully Breed was not designed to cause harm. The sad part is just a few people can make things bad for the Bully breed. All breeds have potential to bite for a variety of reason. Biting and attacking is not a Bully Breed trait.
Responsibility does indeed lie with the owner. Care and training is important for the safety and health of all the Bully Breeds. Sad that the dogs have had to suffer at the hands of greedy people. Please help us stop the Bully Breeds from becoming the victims to mankind ignorance. Society as a whole needs to understand chaining any dog or life is wrong and creates endless health problems.
Most areas throughout the states have some kind of law on the books regarding keeping a dog on a chain. Even if the law allows a dog to be left on a chain, leaving a dog chained is cruel and morally wrong. Treating a dog with respect makes the difference for both society and the Bully Breeds.
All dogs need basic love and socialization. Also, all dogs need to be part of the pack on a daily basis. Dogs in general need to be exercise and train daily, especially for the Bully Breeds.
That sad part for me is when Hershey had to die because of a law, not a crime. Let's honor Hershey's life and all the lives that has been lost because of man-made rules or laws by spreading education and awareness that all life matters, including the several Bully breeds that has been designed by the hands of man.
