Thunderstorms Can Sound Similar to the Earth Blowing-up in a Violent Manner!

|Bojangles will run to me in times of loud sounds, such as thunder!|
I adopted Bojangles after he was a year old. I truly do not know his real story. I do suspect a few things about his past through his medical condition and reaction to places, people, and sounds.
I suspect Bojangles was force to stay outside, specially when it rained. I was told Bojangles was a momma's baby. I doubt that Bojangles was a momma's baby before me. He attaches to me or my husband depending on his needs
When\ever a storm hits our area, Bojangles becomes extremely frighten. He runs and tries to hide under me or insists I hold him. No matter what I do for Bojangles during a storm, his whole body shakes and shivers. I have yet to discover a trick to calm Bojangles is why I suspect he was left alone outside during storms.
I was told Bojangles was not allowed to sleep in the woman's bedroom. So, I really doubt that she allowed him in the house during a storm. Also, she said he loves being outside. Yet, with me, Bojangles prefer to be inside the house with me.
Bojangles is grateful for being in the house, specially during a bad storm. I am more grateful Bojangles has enough trust to come to me when he feels unsafe and scared. Dogs can become lost or injured because of fear. In each moment, I teach Bojangles I am his safe place.
Dogs are similar to us humans that suffer from ill past actions even if they do not ever occur again. As a higher thinking animal, us humans have responsibility to create positive actions to all life and protect the animals during storms. To puppies and dogs, thunderstorms can sound similar to the Earth blowing-up in a violent manner.
I love when the news says to be sure to bring your pets in during a bad storm and explains the reason to bring pets into a safe place. I wish the news would announce the reason more often and wouldn't wait until the harsh storms. No life should be subjected to mother nature at her worse.
Do you allow your pets in the house to be safe during storms or do you leave them outside to defend themselves against nature?
