Van Orden kicked the dog breaking ribs and bruising his lungs. No excuse from the groomer, and no excuse is acceptable.
Van Orden with Creature Comfort Veterinary Center in Iowa City kicked the dog breaking ribs and bruising his lungs. No excuse from the groomer, and no excuse is acceptable.

We need laws that protect the animals. I am shocked that bringing our furry love ones for care is no longer safe. I am greatly disappointed in Van Orden. I was thinking about taking Sir. Duke to get his nails trim. Now, I am going to take my time and consider another option. I know Sir. Duke can be very difficult when it come to his nails. So, I do not want to ricks him being abused.

The dog that Orden kicked is normally a breed that has a reputation of being relaxed and easy. I cannot see any action that could had justified the abuse. Something very wrong with Orden that goes beyond simply having a bad day.

We need better laws to protect our animals. Orden is simply getting a slap on his hand while the dog spent two months to recover. According to the report, Orden is facing misdemeanor charges. He may spend about thrity days in jail and pay a "$625 fine". Thankfully he has lost his job. Let's hope Orden does not find another job around children or animals.

Also, according to the report Orden has been working for animals for twenty years. I doubt this abuse case is his first. I wonder how many other animals were tortured unnoticed by Orden. I know for sure, if I had to take Sir Duke in to be groomed, I will insist on keeping my eye on him.

Do you take your dog to the groomer? Do you drop off and pick up? Do you see how you animal is treated? Do you think you can tell if you dog is abused while being groomed? Leave a comment. let me know what you are thinking. Do you think Orden is a isolated incident or a warning sign?
